does path of exile have controller support

I'm an older gamer (retired vet) who don't have the best hand movement anymore. I injured it overseas. I can use a PC mouse normally, but just not as fast as when I was a youth.

And I like playing on the PC, and so my question is, will the next POE game offer controller suppport for the PC?

I find that the controller is much easier for me to play and doesn't hurt my hands/wrist.

(Console gaming isn't for me).
thanks.

Diablo 4 is planning to have out of the box controller support and co-op. Would be great to see this in PoE2.

I myself asked about GGG implementing controller support on the PC, preferrably starting with this game since they already have the code for it. You can see my thread here. 🙂

It won't happen and they stated before with the console releases it won't happen.

The game's controls are dumbed down in the console version to make up for the lack of control options and how some stuff works entirely, and as such the pc version and console version are quite different (which is why the console leagues launch later than pc)

So when the console version came out originally they promised they wouldn't implement the controller support on the pc version because if they did they'd need to do the same thing to the controls on pc to make it work which they didn't want to happen which most of the pc community was happy about at the time (and mostly still are imo)

There is no reason for the "PC community" to interfere to be honest. It isn't like they would lose mouse/keyboard controls if the controller setup was implemented here. It's 2020 and there is the CVAA, and PoE is not exempt from it. Controller configuration is an accessibility feature, nothing more. I'm not exactly sure what players have against it since they don't lose anything from it being implmented.

The entire control scheme is different which means enemies have to be balanced around that control scheme on the console version along with (unless they changed something) console only having 4 flask slots which the console version also accounts for in balance.

The thing is the console and pc versions are very different from each other in control and balance so if they wet to implement the control they'd need to apply the same rebalance to the pc version else the controllers would not optimal but also severely gimped in game play, not to mention you can't have 5 flasks equipped which means there'd need to be 2 different versions of the pc game just to have one balanced for controllers and one not.

^^ the game is basically exactly the same on console, the differences in regard to porting the control system is that it uses an auto target system. Pickup is also one button press in a circle around your character. Trade would have to be done with keyboard but thats a compromise most would accept.
To port the controller system would certainly be possible i cant see them doing it till 2.0 and perhaps if d4 starts to eat into there numbers.

The console has five flask slots. They're triggered by DPad L/R/U and L1 + R1. Enemies are exactly as they are on the PC. No changes were made for them. The balance is identical for console as well. As noted, none of the skills, gems, notables, or passives are any different on console than for PC. That's why all of the PC builds work for console as well (as long as you can handle "rolling" the flask butons for the build).

I'm not sure where you got that anything was different, but it isn't. Only the control scheme and navigating the inventory/stash. Everything else is identical.
