how to join lfg channel wow classic

WoW Classic WoW Classic General Discussion

I know that this is a “change” and we don’t want Classic with changes, but I feel that this tiny, important “change” will be most positively effective, because while I’ve spent weeks levelling, I’ve noticed that a lot of players (including those in my guild) do not know that there’s a LFG chat channel and so they sometimes struggle finding groups.

Đang xem: How to join lfg channel wow classic

Since LookingForGroup chat is an official Blizzard chat channel, I feel it’s only right to automatically place players/new characters into it, like how it already does so for General, Trade and LocalDefense, with the option to obviously leave it.

World chat is not good enough considering that it’s unofficial and players can rule in it and end up kicking/banning players from it when they see fit, as well as it being unofficial and not logged by Blizzard, meaning that if somebody states loot rules in World chat and then changes loot rules and ninjas items in a raid, the player cannot be punished by Blizzard. (Recently confirmed by a Reddit topic the other day)

Meanwhile we already have a changes in Classic like raid frames, loot trading in raids, certain emote audio not being heard by un-grouped players, graphical options from retail and various UI changes.

Which none of us asked for.

Meaning that no one would say a thing if we were automatically put into LFG chat from the get-go instead of having to type /Join LookingForGroup.

You should consider that some people probably don’t want to join any global channels at all. Forcefully putting them into LFG spam from the very beginning is not cool.

Please understand that there is another official Blizzard channel that is not automatically joined by new characters, and that there is a very good reason for this. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then please go into chat settings and take a look.

Some channels are spammy.

Actually I suspect a lot of people would find it annoying due to how busy the chat is.

The point is – I do not wish Blizzard to make ANY changes further than the ones already in the game. WHether the changes are good or bad, sensible or dumb.
I do not want Blizzard to start taking attitude of “We can fix and improve things”.

Boogiepop also makes good point about the defence channel.

I have no idea why they didn’t do this from the start tbh. Trade is just filtered here as it is full of LFG/LFM spam.

IIRC on my server there was a serverwide LFG channel pretty early that people joined.

What many don’t seem to understand is that by using trade channel, which is unique per city btw, makes them invisible to many people out questing or otherwise moving around.

You can make separate tabs for filtering and that could have been set up from the start. We already got the separate combat details tab.

Except a lot of “you” can be seen in this forum asking for any number of changes to make the game “feel” more like vanilla.

Or maybe you don’t speak for anyone but yourself.

I am not speaking for anyone but myself. The opinions expressed here belong to the name of the character posting this. How many names are on my forum profile? Just one.

Don’t belittle me for having an opinion and expressing it, you numpty.

I want no changes.
If other people want changes then post in this thread. Go on.

I purposely leave LFG chat regularly when it’s either too busy or late at night when people use it as barrens chat.

I’d rather not be put into it automatically.

I purposely leave it immediately once I find my group.

I have it on a separate tab so I never see it unless I want to. Same with Trade.

Then don’t say “us”.

Boogiepop-bloodfang October 11, 2019, 3:23pm #17

Not everybody wants to do that or even knows how, which means not everybody should be automatically signed up to it.

Oh, and FYI trade is not “unique per city”. That’s general chat. Or did you mean “unique TO cities”?

Skyplusqbox-sylvanas October 11, 2019, 7:13pm #18

It wouldn’t really be a “change” in my eyes, more of a helpful UI change like the raid frames.
A lot of people don’t know about it and automatically having it on a seperate tab or automatically joining it (Either on creation or X level) isn’t a problem as you could just leave it (Then even newbies know it’s there to rejoin later).
This would really help increase the range of players you could reach when searching for groups. (Baring in mind, at least on my realm, finding groups is VERY difficult due to it not being such a populated realm and being on a low population alliance realm… which is my own fault, but this could really become a great feature for my realm and many others).

I think your thread will get a lot of hate by the nochanges team that stalk the wtbblue.com and reply on every thread so it looks like they have an insane amount of support, but a lot of people would love this to happen and it wouldn’t impact the game at all as you could just leave the channel at any point. Don’t see a problem with it.

Never joined LFG so far because I always go to /world if I want to interact with everyone on the server. Been using that channel for years, and it seems to be a thing here in classic also. Find groups really fast there, also trade and general banter so you don’t even need to join /1 (except for local elite-quests) or /2 ever again
