Anyone who has pvped in minecraft no matter what platform their on probably knows that CPS is pretty important. Logically, if you click faster you’ll have a better chance of landing a hit on your opponent before they do. Recently I came across a post by Tenebrous talking about this topic, which he explained pretty well how higher cps can improve hit registration, but he also explained that higher cps can allow a player to take less knockback as well.

The post Tenebrous made was back in 2017 and it was about the Java version of Minecraft (probably 1.8.9 but I’m not sure). I was wondering if this mechanic is also something that’s found on the bedrock version of the game as well. I know there are quite a few players here who are really good at pvp and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge around the specifics of bedrock pvp.
If these mechanics are a thing on bedrock it would explain why people on mobile who have high fov and crab (strafing side to side without sprinting) always seem to take so little knockback as their high fov allows to to constantly be sending swing packets without having to turn their screen. If I’m completely wrong and mechanics on bedrock are different then I’ll still have no idea why crabbing is so overpowered XD.

The thread is a bit long, so I skimmed over it. It’s just discussing whether or not cps really matters or not I believe, correct me if I’m wrong. With bedrock edition, I’d say cps is secondary. Strafing is more important in my opinion.

This is the mechanic I’m talking about:
“Therefore clicking 10 CPS (and landing every hit every tick) will reduce your knockback 60% every time you click them. 1 CPS with 100% accuracy = 60% knockback. 2 CPS with 100% accuracy = 36% knockback. 6 CPS with 100% accuracy = 0.4% knockback… and it goes on and on”
He explains why this is true in the thread, but is it true on bedrock and the Hive specifically?
You might have to wait for someone with a bit more knowledge on this subject to drop in, I don’t quite know the specifics on it. I’m just a bonk and strafe man, lmao.
