How to craft a Wooden Axe in Survival Mode
1. Open the Crafting Menu
First, open your crafting table so that you have the 3×3 crafting grid that looks like this:
2. Add Items to make a Wooden Axe
In the crafting menu, you should see a crafting area that is made up of a 3×3 crafting grid. To make a wooden axe, place 3 wood planks and 2 sticks in the 3×3 crafting grid.
When crafting with wood planks, you can use any kind of wood planks, such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, crimson, or warped planks. In our example, we are using oak wood planks.
When making a wooden axe, it is important that the wood planks and sticks are placed in the exact pattern as the image below. There should be 2 wood planks placed in the first row (the last box in the row should be left empty). In the second row, 1 wood plank should be in the first box and 1 stick should be in the second box (the last box in the row should be left empty). In the third row, 1 stick should be in the middle box. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a wooden axe.
Now that you have filled the crafting area with the correct pattern, the wooden axe will appear in the box to the right.
3. Move the Wooden Axe to Inventory
Once you have crafted a wooden axe, you need to move the new item to your inventory.
