Minecraft How To Stop Slimes From Spawning, Tutorials/Managing Slimes In Superflat Mode

Hey y'all. I'm building a base under the ocean. Most of the area I've drained is below Y40 and some of the included chunks are slime chunks. I've had some thoughts on stopping the slimes from spawning, but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas.

Đang xem: Minecraft how to stop slimes from spawning

*Replace the grass with leaf blocks in the slime chunks so nothing can spawn on them but it still looks green

*Put string on the grass on the slime chunks

*Fence the chunks in and put a couple of iron golems in there to kill them as they spawn

*Ponds. Ponds everywhere.

My base is some 200×150 blocks, so I've got a few slime chunks to contend with. Does anyone have any other ideas I could use?

I'm playing on Xbox one, so sadly mods and commands are a no-go.

Green carpet will stop the slimes from spawning and keep your green look. Cactus and wool, baby!

That's a great thought, thank you! I'll definitely use that one.

String does not prevent spawning. at least in java edition.

I don't know the exact mechanics for any console versions, so don't take what i say as fact.

-Carpets prevent spawning.

-Redstone components like buttons, pressure plates, redstone dust and so on prevent spawning.

-You could build your floor 1 block lower and cover it over with glass.

-Place some magma blocks/cactus around your base for the slimes to jump in to.

-Iron golems, though they will br taking damage from medium and big slimes.

-Use non spawnable blocks like slabs, glass, glowstone, sealanterns, leaves, stairs and so on as floor materials.

Thats about all i can think of for now.

Yeah, string does not stop spawning. Which kinda sucks for survival builders, as it would be a great solution for roofs and such

On the java edition I just use bottom half slabs for slime chunks. It kind of annoys me, but it's easy and it's oblivious where the slime chunks are then. I may try glass (maybe green stained glass) next time though. I like the idea of using carpet, but water will wash carpet away.
