Should I Watch Fullmetal Alchemist Before Brotherhood, Complete Watch Order

So, I want to get inot FMA this summer; I was wondering if you could suggest one of the three methods that has been spinning around in my head (Sorry folks, but lets limit this to just the anime ):

Option 1: Watch the first FMA anime series completely. Once finished, Start Brotherhood and watch it completely through.

Đang xem: Should i watch fullmetal alchemist before brotherhood

Option 2: Skip the first FMA anime series all together. Start and finish Brotherhood completely.

Option 3: Watch the first FMA series up to episode 26 (right before the creators began working on their own, diverging plot). Then, start Brotherhood fully and completely.

Thanks in Advance!

Watch Brotherhood, it follows the manga. The first animated series becomes a mindf*ck in the last few episodes and the movies further cemented said mindf*ck. I mean, the first one is still good, but Brotherhood completely blows it out of the water.

I would do this, however, I heard that the first 10 or so episodes of Brotherhood kinda lean on the first 26 episodes of the original series” character introductions and characterizations; as a result, the first 10 episodes of Brotherhood seem rushed and confusing to newcomers. This is just what I heard, of course.

Watch either one you want to or both and decide for yourself which you like more. I started with the first anime then the Conquerer of Shambala, then I watched the second anime. Personally, I like the second one better.
With your eyes. I”ve only watched FMA, but Brotherhood is much, much closer to the manga and the original storyline. FMA was made before the manga was even finished, which often ruins and/or completely disregards the story and the writer”s view on it.
Skip FMA, watch Brotherhood. FMA is strictly worse.chessmaster1989 yeah TC, the only reason alot of us even watching FMA was because their was no Brotherhood at the time.

Not sure.

You can always try here, i”ve seen a couple series there but some have a player which has time limit unless you have an account, so…

and you also randomly look up episodes on Google, which is what i do most of the time(although i personally just downloaded the episodes)

And yes, you should skip the first series, Brotherhood is way better.

Option 4: Watch Full Metal Alchemist all the way through, then the movie. Brotherhood was disapointing so skip it.

With your eyes.DeihjanFunny, I was going to say the same thing but I decided to not be satirical for a moment.

whatever, FMA kicks ass.
With your eyes.BranKetraFunny, I was going to say the same thing but I decided to not be sarcastic for a moment. Funny, you thinking you have the little greys to fuel sarcasm.
Funny, you thinking you have the little greys to fuel sarcasm. I don”t have to think about it. I know I do. :/

Because we all know breathing is more or less an automatic response of the nervous system and the brain working together, and doesn”t require more than an IQ of 50 or so to function, so I guess even you should be able to compete in that.

Is this unhappy hour? Did I rustle your jimmies or make it so that you used to be an adventurer until you took one of my arrows to the knee? Jeez.

Serraph105 Honestly, I thought FMA regular was very forgettable.
I”m just worried that, if I jump into FMAB without FMA, I”ll get confused or miss out character development that the creators unintentionally relied on in FMA (as most viewers who began watching FMAB, most likely saw FMA). What do you guys think?

What do you guys think?director13 how would you get confused? theres nothing wrong with watching both but if you do, its gong to get pretty tedious watching the same thing happen the first couple of episodes.

chessmaster1989 Honestly, I thought FMA regular was very forgettable. I didn”t think so, though FMAB is way more expanded.
Idk ive heard that the first eps of FMAB are really fast paced because it”s recovering FMA ground. As a result, it can get confusing and character development is skimped. But you say this isn”t true and I should be fine with FMAB independently?

But you say this isn”t true and I should be fine with FMAB independently?director13 with FMAB, their isn”t alot of pointless exposition as their was with FMA, you”ll be fine checking out FMAB, trust me my friend. It has better animation, the story follows the manga and it concludes nicely. FMA doesn”t even conclude in the series, it took a movie to finish the story “the movie wasn”t that good”. unless your into Hitler and the nazi regime

Depends:

If you have the patience/free time, Should watch FMA, FMA movie, then FMA BH

If you don”t have the free time & patience for a time investment of that magnitude, skip to FMA BH

FMA is like Hellsing, the remake makes huge improvements to the original and going back to the original can be hard after seeing the improved version.

That said, if you honestly believe you don”t have the time for both, just go FMA BH.

Watch brotherhood to see the story the way the author actually intended. Even before I had seen Brotherhood, the original started to feel like fan fiction in season 2.

You forgot the part where you fast forward over the ubearable luaghing, happy, smiling moments and watch the depressing, dark and horrible moments.

Always loved watching FMA (I never read the Mangas), even though Adult Swim always tended to play the same episodes over and over, whenever I was given the chance to watch them, so I was never truly able to get into the story line. Currently got all of Brotherhood, and will hopefully be able to watch them through soon. Also TC (if it hasn”t been mentioned already), Netflix may have Brotherhood, but it only has a little more than half the episodes.

The Xbox's identity has come a long way over the years, from being the system Kurt Indovina had zero interest in, to his console of choice… but how did this happen?
