Witcher III: Wild Hunt has seen a new spike in popularity thanks to the Netflix series and the Witcher IIISwitch port. With new fans comes new questions, like who you can romance and when over the course of Geralt”s adventures.
Đang xem: Witcher 3 it takes three to tango
Here are some tips on how to mess with Geralt”s love life in Witcher III.
The Witcher 3 Sex and Romance Guide
There are a lot of cool things to do inWitcher III: Wild Hunt, including romantic pursuits. Your two main choices for a long-term partner areTriss and Yennefer, both of whom have a special character ending (as well as special DLC outfits). Every other romance in Witcher III is doomed to remain a short-term arrangement at best. (And sadly, you cannot yet court Dandelion.)
Notably, you can pursue every other available woman in the game without it having an impact on your relationship with either Triss or Yennefer. It”s only if you try to romance both of them at the same time that you”re going to end up having problems.
If you”re looking for a full walkthrough for the rest of Witcher III, check out Prima”s free guide, or these starting tips from author David Hodgson.
Complete the story quest Count Reuven”s Treasure. Triss subsequently asks you to meet her in Novigrad, where she offers you the side quest A Matter of Life and Death.
If you take Triss up on that quest, you”ll get the option to romance Triss during your subsequent visit to the gala. While that kiss gets interrupted, it sets the stage for a later tryst after you complete the side quest Now or Never.
At this point, you can try to get Triss to stay with Geralt by making some particular dialogue choices.
If you”re ride or die for Triss and want Geralt to outright confess his love for her, tell Sigismund to “Stay out of other people”s affairs.” When Triss is about to board the ship to Kovir, tell her “Stay with me” and “I love you,” and agree to listen to Sigismund”s story. Triss will return while he”s telling it, and you”ll get a scene between her and Geralt.
If you want to keep your options open, tell Triss “Stay with me” and “Let”s try again” while she”s boarding the ship. Triss will stick around, and if you avoid romancing Yennefer later on, you”ll be set for Triss”s ending.
If you don”t try to stop Triss from leaving for Kovir, it marks the permanent end of her romantic path. While it doesn”t mean she”s out of the game–she”ll show up later at the Chameleon, after the Battle of Kaer Morhen–Triss is no longer any kind of romantic option.
This is the marginally easier of the two main romance paths in Witcher III, as the two major decisions that influence it are set during quests in the main storyline. As such, they can”t be missed.
During The King is Dead – Long Live the King, choose the black and white outfit for Geralt. Later, after the fight in the laboratory, choose to kiss Yennefer once the room starts filling up with gas. She”ll teleport you both to safety in her bedroom. Tell her that you”d like to watch her change, you old smoothie, and you”ll receive the first of two love scenes with Yennefer.
If you”ve done so, you can get a second love scene with Yennefer later, during No Place Like Home.
You can then make one last choice with Yennefer during the side quest The Last Wish, where you can choose between telling Yennefer you love her, or breaking up with her. If you”ve avoided romancing Triss up to this point, or you did but settled for telling her “Let”s try again” after Now or Never, you”ll lock in Yennefer”s romantic ending. It comes complete with a cameo appearance by the real star of Witcher III, Geralt In A Bathtub.
Triss & Yennefer
If you pursue both Triss and Yennefer in a single run through Witcher III–you told Triss you loved her after Now or Never, and told Yennefer you loved her after The Last Wish–you”ll open a new quest called It Takes Three to Tango that triggers after you complete Final Preparations.
It”s worth seeing the results here at least once, but it permanently ends your relationships with both Triss and Yennefer, as well as your chance to see either of their endings. You”ll end up with the vague bummer of a finale where Geralt continues his lonely life as a wandering Witcher.
The rest of the romanceable women in Witcher III are one-time affairs and side quests. You can pursue any or all of these liasons, and spend as much time as you like in the brothels of Novigrad and Beauclair Port, without affecting your relationship with Triss or Yennefer.
After you complete Hunting a Witch and Wandering in the Dark, you”ll receive an invitation to visit Keira Metz at her home, a hut northeast of Midcopse. There, she offers you the quest A Towerful of Mice.
Complete it, and its followup Favor for a Friend, and Keira will invite Geralt over for dinner. You can opt to become “friends with benefits” with Keira after the meal.
Go to the fighting ring east of Harviken and pick up the Iron Maiden side quest, which requires you to fight Jutta an Dimun. If you”ve defeated Olaf already, during the Fists of Fury secondary quest in Skellige, Jutta will agree to fight you directly.
Otherwise, she”ll make you undertake a random task in order to prove you”re not just some nobody, such as defeating Einar or Gundar in Harviken in a fistfight.
When you earn the right to take Jutta on, don”t use any of your Witcher tricks during the fight, like bombs, potions, or signs, or you”ll fail the quest on the spot for being unsporting. (You can stack the deck by drinking potions to buff yourself before the fight, however; Jutta only cares if you drink a potion while you”re fighting her.) You also only get one shot at completing Iron Maiden; if Jutta beats you, Iron Maiden will fail and she won”t offer you a rematch.
Jutta will give in once you reduce her to 25% health or lower. It doesn”t matter what you say when she asks you where you learned to fight; however you answer the question, she”ll ask you to meet her at her place after dusk. Stop by there after 8 PM, and she”ll proposition you. Offer to help her “with the other part of that” and you”ll start a love scene.
Read the notice board near St. Gregory”s Bridge in Novigrad to begin the High Stakes side quest. To continue it, head to the Passiflora and pay 1,000 crowns to enter the gwent tournament there.
The outcome of the tournament doesn”t matter for the purposes of this quest. Once it concludes, regardless of who won, the scribe announces that the prize money has been stolen. Sasha, one of the other players, will offer to team up with Geralt to find the thief. Agree to help her out.
At the end of the quest, Sasha will invite Geralt to dinner. If you turn her down, the quest ends on the spot. If you dine with her, you have the additional option to romance her, although she won”t be there the next morning.
You can also secure a dinner invitation from Sasha if you beat her during the gwent tournament.
The love scene with Syanna isexclusiveto theBlood and Wineexpansion for Witcher III, which is included in the Complete Edition.
During the storyline questNight of the Long Fangs, opt to find Syanna, rather than track down Orianna. Much later on, towards the end ofBeyond Hill and Dale, Syanna will eventually hit on Geralt. Despite the fact that this looks like a super obvious trap, you can pick “Let her have her way with you” without any negative consequences.
The option to romance our old friend Shani is unique to the Hearts of Stone expansion for Witcher III, which is included in the Complete Edition.
After the story quest Dead Man”s Party, as the wedding feast concludes, you have the option to hang back and spend some time with Shani. This starts a new side quest, A Midnight Clear, where you can opt to give Shani one of four gifts.
Whatever you give her, go for a walk with Shani and choose to kiss her when you”re given the opportunity. Afterward, keep walking with Shani and you”ll eventually get a love scene.
The scene ends differently based on your gift for Shani. Give her a rowan branch (found in the barn) or chamomile (near the pigpen) for a more romantic ending to the night. To go more slapstick with it, give her brandy (on the table near the Rowan tree) or mead (found on one of the other tables).
