I am looking for either the best 2 for making gold or the best 2 for making my character as strong as possible. never really been sure of what to choose. looking for some good input to help me make the right choices

Betademon-nagrand (Betademon) 20 February 2019 01:10 #2

I’m by no means an expert, or even have any knowledge whatsoever about professions, but what I’ve read, is they’re a shadow of what they once were in terms of actually making a character stronger.

In terms of gold making, I’ll leave it up to someone else to help you out there.

Herbalism is still stupidly good for making money. Other than that, probably Enchanting, Tailoring (bags), or Alchemy.

Xaedys

Up to you. You’d probably make more money with herbalism rather than tailoring, but that does depend a bit on how dedicated you are about farming herbs.

Boltaction-zuljin (Boltaction) 20 February 2019 17:02 #6

with the tailoring profession you do gather more from mobs. if you plan to do any 2×4 farming then tailoring will be better. if you aren’t doing 2×4 farms then herbing is better for the gold. as far as professions and gear jwtbblue.comt about every profession currently has a 415 item you can make. so any one of them will help you in your gearing arc. the best seem to be JC for the ring and alchemy for the trinket. but that’s not to say leatherworker for the 415 boots ( I think its boots) or engineering for the helm wouldn’t also be good. really any 2 that will make items will help you with your gearing if you are willing to grind out the resources needed. (200 breath of bwomsamdi for the 415 item)

Also jwtbblue.comt to note if you plan to pvp then go with the engineering helm. its traits aren’t nerfed in pvp lik the other azerite pieces in the game

I don’t believe that’s accurate anymore. Tailoring has historically had a passive where it gathered more cloth drops, but drop rates don’t seem to be different between my tailors and non-tailors in BfA content, and there’s no spell effect or passive that I can find. In addition, Blizzard is specifically adding a new tool for tailors (like similar tools for other professions) with a held effect of increasing cloth drops in BfA content.

It’s definitely different. it really shows the difference when 2 x 4 farming. I collect 3 times the stacks on my tailor when I Farm with him.

As far as making your character better, Leatherworking and Alchemy are pretty strong. That’s 3 potential pieces of gear at 415 ilvl once you get enough mats. And the best thing about LW is if you don’t like the secondary stats, you can scrap it and get all of your expulsom and breaths/tidal cores back so you jwtbblue.comt have to get the other mats which are far easier in order to craft it again.

Oh yes. I rerolled both my 400 pants and boots a couple of times until i got rid of mastery. You can also scrap the 385s to get your expulsom back. Saves a lot of time scrapping 225 bracers for the 90 bajillion expulsom you would need otherwise.

Caind-dalvengyr 21 February 2019 19:48 #12

I always do this when I switch up main.
Alch+Enchant on Main, always.

WPVP and PVE, the bonwtbblue.com % on HP pots will help a lot.
In addition, you can walk around with 2hrs flask buff to do do multiple M+ and whatever stuff you need to do that day.

Then Enchant, becawtbblue.come you are a main, you will DE 99% of the stuff you don’t need for gold.

Herb+Mining should be on one toon, druid preferably to avoid good investment.
Buy a Golem mount for 100k if no druid since you will make that 100k back quicker from not dismounting all the time.

Tailoring+Inscription on another toon.
Tailoring is to make bracers to give to your main to DE for money, or to scrape to get expulsion to make decks.

Every expansion, I always prep 3x toons.
Main, druid, donkey.

Engineering for the Azerite helm/ absorb shield on your belt. Leatherworking for 415 legs and boots.

Rìvalz-greymane 22 February 2019 00:44 #14

do those professions provide much gold income tho? or jwtbblue.comt good for gear

Nfc-haomarwtbblue.comh 22 February 2019 01:01 #15

Not sure. I was trying to answert the “strong as possible” part of the question as I noticed many others covered the gold making professions. I would say for gold, herbalism is the best.

Ya, this is very notable. I saved 60 Expulsum for my alchemy trinket, but sharding the 385 and 400 got me back 35 of those. So I would have only needed to save up the 25 required for the 415 one, if I’d know it in advance.

so if I was going to go with engineering should I also be mining? I have enchanting and tailoring and I make decent money selling the enchanting mats. but tailoring is kinda dead unless im making bags. does mining make good money like herbalism?

Herbalism for $. Farming stuff is mind numbingly boring and the worst aspect of the game for me, so maybe I’m not the best to ask. I jwtbblue.comt like to choose professions that I can wtbblue.come to improve my character so I can do things I enjoy. I’m not picking flowers for nobody. Ever.
